Sponge cake:
3 large eggs
room temperature
115 grams sugar
4 tablespoon butter melted
85 grams self raising flour
¾ teaspoon baking powder
Whipped cream:
½ cup heavy whipping cream chilled
11/2 tablespoon powdered sugar

METHOD FOR MAKING THE CHOCOLATE BAR CAKE
First we need to make the sponge cake. Preheat the
oven to 180 º C (350º F) and grease and dust a baking tin. Sieve the flour. In
a large bowl Place the eggs and sugar and beat with an electric beater on high
speed until the mixture is thick and double in quantity.
Now fold in the sieved flour gently with a spoon.
Now fold in 11/2 tablespoons of hot water and melted butter and mix gently.
Pour the prepared cake batter in the prepared baking tin and bake in the hot
oven at 400 Degree F for about 15 minutes. The cake is ready when it leaves the
sides of the tin and is springy to touch.
For filing the cake prepare the whipped cream in a large
bowl, place the very chilled whipping cream and sugar, and beat until it is light
and fluffy.
Now Slice the cake in two, and fill the layer with
the whipped cream.
For making the chocolate bar cover, choose
“first option” ingredients.
Use the baking tin we used for baking the cake. Clean
the baking tin. Melt the chopped chocolate in a double boiler.
Now
pour the melted chocolate in the bottom of the baking tin, until the bottom is
completely covered with chocolate. Cut off the sides of the cake using a knife,
and place the cake inside the baking tin. Then fill the baking tin completely
with chocolate, and place it in the fridge for a couple of hours to set. Once
set, remove the baking tin from the refrigerator, and unmold it carefully from
