CAKE DONUT Ingredients:
1 cup unbleached all-purpose flour
1/3 cup sugar
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/4 teaspoon baking soda
1 tablespoon dry strawberry jello
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/8 teaspoon nutmeg, freshly grated
1/4 cup finely chopped fresh strawberries
1/4 cup plain Greek yogurt
1 egg
2 tablespoons canola or vegetable oil
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Method FOR MAKING THE CAKE DONUTS

1 egg
2 tablespoons canola or vegetable oil
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Method FOR MAKING THE CAKE DONUTS
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Grease and flour a doughnut pan well
Whisk flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, strawberry jello, salt, and nutmeg together in a medium mixing bowl.
Whisk yogurt, strawberries, egg, oil and vanilla together in a separate small bowl. Pour all at once over dry ingredients and stir only until everything is moistened.
Spoon batter into pastry bag or quart-size zippered plastic bag. Seal. Snip small corner of plastic bag and force dough out of hole in a fat rope that encircles each doughnut cup. Fill only 1/2 to 3/4 full or you will lose the hole in the middle of your doughnut. Makes 12 donuts and possibly 3-4 “donut holes” in a mini cupcake pan. Bake for 9-10 minutes.
Strawberry frosting :
2 tablespoons softened cream cheese
2 to 3 or more tablespoons milk
2 cups powdered sugar
1 teaspoon strawberry jello powder
Method
Combine cream cheese and milk in a medium mixing bowl. Mix powdered sugar and jello powder with cream cheese until smooth. Add more milk (a few drops at a time) if necessary to achieve correct consistency. It should drip slowly without being runny. Dip donuts face down into glaze and turn over to dry on rack or pour over the top. Sprinkle with colored sugar before the glaze

½ cups Yogurt (greek Is Great)
½ cups Buttermilk
2 whole Eggs
2 teaspoons Vanilla
Glaze....
¾ cups Chocolate Chips (semi Sweet Or Dark)
1 Tablespoon Light Corn Syrup
3 Tablespoons Butter
¼ teaspoons Vanilla
¼ cups Cocoa Powder
2 teaspoons Baking Powder
½ teaspoons Baking Soda
2-⅓ cups Sugar
1 teaspoon Ground Nutmeg
1 teaspoon Salt
¼ cups Unsweetened Applesauce
½ cups Yogurt (greek Is Great)
½ cups Buttermilk
2 whole Eggs
2 teaspoons Vanilla
Glaze....
¾ cups Chocolate Chips (semi Sweet Or Dark)
1 Tablespoon Light Corn Syrup
3 Tablespoons Butter
¼ teaspoons Vanilla
HOW TO MAKE CAKE DONUTS:

Sift all dry ingredients together in a large bowl. Add the applesauce and mix until it makes coarse crumbs.
Whisk together the yogurt, buttermilk, eggs and vanilla in a separate bowl. Add this mixture to the flour mixture and stir until just incorporated.
Fill a Ziploc bag with the batter and cut a slit in the corner. Pipe the batter into each cup about 1/2 to 2/3 full. Bake for about 10-12 minutes, until the donuts spring back when lightly touched. Let cool slightly before glazing.
For the glaze:
Melt chocolate chips, corn syrup, butter and vanilla together in a small bowl in the microwave at 30 second intervals, stirring in between each interval (you can also heat it in a small saucepan over the stove, stirring constantly over low heat). Once melted, dip the slightly cooled donuts into the glaze, then set donuts on some parchment paper and allow glaze to set for about 30 minutes before servin
